Acrylic on Canvas
40" x 30"
Painted in 2010 on a Gallery Wrap Canvas that does not require framing for display.
"Stack of Boxes" - a painting from my "Boxes" series - is a somewhat abstract representation of a stack of common gift boxes exposed in a simple color grid. It was on display at my 2010 NYC Chelsea Gallery show "Homage To The Box" and was referred to in a review of the show as follows:
"Among Perlmutter’s most dynamitic paintings ... are the large acrylics on canvas, "Sack of Boxes” and “Pile of Boxes” Both compositions feature cubic shapes in ... kandy-kolored blatantly artificial hues. ... Painted either in stately arrangements or ostensibly random (but actually skillfully organized) configurations, they project a simultaneous sense of occupying deep space with an almost contradictory emblematic presence." ---Ed McCormick, Gallery & Studio Magazine
