Painted in 2010 on a Gallery Wrap Canvas that does not require framing for display.
"Paper Airplane 2" is an offspring of my original work "Paper Airplane" (viewable in the Abstract Gallery). It pays homage to this extraordinarily engineered object with roots that go back more 2,000 years to China and more than 5 centuries to Da Vinci who is said to have first created this modern "flying paper form". And, it was on display at my 2011 NYC Chelsea Gallery show "Ordinary Things".
This painting illustrats the "Dart" version of the Paper Airplane that is said to be the fastest yet the easiest to construct. It's a simple - though complex - work of folded paper that - in itself - is an enduring work of art.
Notes:
Priced at standard plus a mark-up for being part a gallery show that received a very positive review from Gallery & Studio Magazine.
