"Red Sunset" is a painting crafted with Collage and Relief on Canvas in 2001. It was originally projected as a simple 2 dimensional "Flower Grid" Color Field work on canvas but morphed - as work progressed - into a more complex composition with a 3rd dimension. As with many of my Non-Objective Color Field works, I normally start out with a pre-sketched idea of what I'm going to paint sometimes following suit but often adjusting on the fly as I proceed. That's part of the fun and adventure I experience when painting in an Abstract or totally Non-Objective style.
"Red Sunset" was chosen for display in the 2011 Art Connections 7 Exhibit at the George Segal Gallery of Montclair State University.
Notes:
Priced at standard for relief work plus 20% for being chosen for display in an important gallery exhibit.
