Painted in 2010 on a Gallery Wrap Canvas that does not require framing for display.

"Open Box" - a painting from my "Boxes" series -  presents an objective image of a common brown shipping box immersed in a checkerboard grid. It was the featured work at my 2011 NYC Chelsea Gallery show "Homage To The Box" and, it was pictured in a review of the exhibit by Gallery and Studio Magazine referring to it as follows:

"Along with their very formidable attributes Perlmutter’s paintings possess a visual wit akin to Pop Art ... and take center stage ... as Open Box wherein, like an elephant given wings, an ordinary brown cardboard shipping crate takes surreal flight against a pink and white grid." -- Ed McCormack
